Vote NO on the ballot amendment known as the “Missouri Stem Cell Research and Cures Initiative” this November 2006.

This November, Missourians will be be confronted with a ballot amendment that will claim to advance stem cell research and further medical progress. While claiming to "prohibit human cloning," this amendment would place in the Missouri Constitution the right to conduct human cloning for research at the earliest stage of human development-the embryo.

There is a better way-ethical research using adult stem cells that does not create and then destroy a human embryo. Adult stem cell research has already led to beneficial treatments in over 65 diseases including Parkinson’s disease, heart and stroke damage, cancer, spinal cord injury, and sickle cell anemia in humans. To date, human embryonic stem cell research has not treated a single person.

If you live in Missouri, please do not stand on the sidelines, but become informed and share this information with other voters who live in your state. If you do not live in Missouri, but have friends and family who live in this state, please inform them about this deceptive initiative!
